It is with sadness that we share the news of the death of one of our founders, Dr Uwe Kitzinger, who passed away on 16th May whilst on holiday in France.
Uwe was a larger-than-life character whose presence could not be missed at the events he attended. His signature eye patch and booming voice ensured that anyone who didn’t know him before an event, certainly knew him afterwards.
We are incredibly grateful to Uwe for the passion which helped to establish the Major Projects Association and for his wise counsel during our early years. As well as for his ongoing support until his frailty prevented him from joining us at our dinners and celebrations. Uwe was also a great archivist of our history, and he visited our offices as recently as 2021 and shared with us his collection of early documents from the 1980s.
