The town planning client role
Summary
Over 1,200 planning submissions, relating to over 40 different venue and infrastructure projects, were required to enable the construction of the Olympic Park. A coordinated approach was essential to ensure that the applications were submitted and approved within challenging timescales. A client-side Town Planning Promoter Team was responsible for overseeing all submissions and interfacing with the Planning Decisions Team which ensured the quality of submissions and significantly reduced programme risk.
