Real-time feeds of transport performance, passenger numbers and spectator behaviour were an essential tool used by analysts and operators to gather intelligence during the Games. Through a unique collaboration bringing together the resources of all the major transport operators, innovative use of Bluetooth technology and social media as well as monitoring teams stationed at venues, even subtle trends could be picked up enabling potential issues to be identified and acted upon before they happened.
