Barriers and Enablers of Project Data and Analytics in Infrastructure Projects
Summary
Project data analytics (PDA) involves using data better to support decisionmaking in project delivery. Projects have always used data in this way but the vast legacy of data from project control systems combined with the advent of widely available tools and systems to manipulate this data mean that PDA now has the potential to dramatically change project delivery. Infrastructure project delivery is perceived as notoriously poor.
Feasibility studies indicate that using PDA better could produce savings of over £23bn per annum in the infrastructure sector. Yet PDA is still not understood or adopted. This report explains why this might be the case and what can be done about it.
