Heathrow T2: The Queen's Terminal - A lesson in Value and Sustainability

Seminar
The new £2.5 billion Terminal 2, The Queen’s Terminal, opens on 4 June 2014. It is the latest step in the transformation of Heathrow and has been designed from the outset with the needs of the individual passenger at its heart and with sustainability as a guiding principle. Terminal 2 will be the home to 23 Star Alliance airlines, as well as the Aer Lingus, Virgin Atlantic Little Red and germanwings carriers. And for the first time, all Star Alliance member airlines operating at the UK’s prime aviation hub will be under one roof serving ultimately 22 million passengers per annum. Terminal 2 is central to Heathrow's vision of making every journey better. The building is intended to enable Partner airlines to work closer together to improve flight connections assisted by a greater emphasis on technology and automation. The emphasis on the customer experience is enhanced by the 40,000m2 space with more natural light and space than often experienced in an airport. Heathrow Airport Holdings Ltd (formally BAA Ltd) have created this new facility at the heart of one of the world’s busiest international airport with a focus on safety and value for money. This seminar will look at the challenges of project initiation, design and delivery and hear how the needs of the end user have been met.
