The first lockdown was a shock to most systems, human and organisation alike, but whilst many companies were scrabbling to catch up, the majority of people adapted to forced virtual working remarkably well.
The post lockdown returns to work are well under way but we shouldn’t assume they are any less of a culture shock. For many of us, the idea that we have to be in the office, to commute to work every day, in order to work together productively has gone out the window. People who have changed jobs or started their first job in lockdown, face the challenge of going back to an unfamiliar office with a team whom they may have never met in person. And organisations continue to struggle to work out what the reality of hybrid working might mean after COVID.
All of which is a great potential source of stress.
This blog offers a variety of resources to help you reflect on what to expect and how to cope in the post-COVID workplace. If you send me details of any sources of insight, advice and support you may have discovered, then I will add them to the page.
Let me kick off the page with a collection of resources very kindly collated for me by Laura Pike of HKS and Jo Shaw.
