The Major Projects Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Nirmal Kotecha as its new Chair.
Nirmal has been a valued Board member of the Association since 2018 and succeeds Emma Howard Boyd CBE, effective 1st April 2025.
He is a partner at Allora Infrastructure and the immediate past Chair of the Infrastructure Client Group. Nirmal brings a wealth of Board & Executive level experience to this position, having driven client-side transformations over the past twenty years in the procurement and delivery of major infrastructure programmes across multiple sectors/organisations, including UK Power Networks, Highways Agency (as was) and Anglian Water.
Nirmal’s experience will be instrumental in driving forward the Major Projects Association’s mission to support the successful delivery of major projects.
“Nirmal has already made a significant impact on the Association through his time as chair of our programme committee, putting together an outstanding programme of seminars and flagship events. He’s pushed the boundaries of both the topic choices and event formats, with great feedback from members. We’re really looking forward to seeing where Nirmal’s leadership in his new role will take us next, ” said Andy Murray, Executive Director of the Major Projects Association.
Nirmal added, “It is a genuine privilege and honour to take on the role of Chair of the Major Projects Association given its rich history and the role it has played and will continue to play in advancing the cause of how major projects are initiated and delivered. I look forward to working with the Board, the Executive Director, Andy Murray, and the rest of the team, as well as our membership, to drive forward our recently launched Strategy 2030. As I pick up the baton, I would like to record my thanks to Jim O’Sullivan for holding the fort as Interim Chair for the past few months.”
