Transport Sector: Review of Tools, Mechanisms and Guidance for Climate Risk Assessments
Climate change is increasingly being felt across the world (IPCC, 2023), and throughout the transport sector in the UK. The Department for Transport has released a report by Arup to study how the transport sector assesses climate risks.
The aim of the report is to identify the potential tools, mechanisms and guidance currently available, and used by, all parts of the UK transport sector in assessing and confronting the risks from climate change to transport infrastructure and operations.
The report made numerous key recommendations for the DfT to enable effective climate risk assessments.
