UK joint regulator and government TCFD Taskforce: Interim Report and Roadmap
Summary
Financial disclosures are a key part of tackling climate change. The UK was one of the first countries worldwide to endorse, in 2017, the recommendations of the Task Force for Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) –aimed at ensuring climate-related risks and opportunities are priced into financial decision-making. In the 2019 Green Finance Strategy the Government outlined how they would use the UK’s status as a global financial hub to drive the greening of the international financial system, and set an expectation that all UK listed issuers and large asset owners would be making disclosures in accordance with the TCFD’s recommendations by 2022.
This report – and accompanying roadmap – outlines the UK’s approach to implementing the recommendations of the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures.
