Thursday 5th November 2020 is international project management day and by way of marking the event, I thought we might share with you five great international sources of insight for anyone involved in major projects.
In no particular order:
United Nations Environment Programme Resources
We could have chosen almost any of the United Nations sites, for example the UNFCCC, UNOPS, UNDEF … but we plumped for the Environment Programme, which chimes with the Association’s focus on sustainability.
World Health Organization Bulletin
The open access bulletin of the WHO is published monthly and is a brilliant source of insight for anyone involved in healthcare or wider social infrastructure.
PMWorld Journal
Edited by the incomparable David Pells, this open access journal is packed with applied research articles, book reviews and country reports.
Project Leadership and Society
The brand new, open access, journal on the block is the IPMA’s Project Leadership and Society, edited by Martina Huemann. This is an exciting new venture for IPMA and holds a great deal of promise for practitioners because it is an applied research journal – focusing on the interface between academic research and the experience of practitioners.
Australian National Audit Office
The internal audit functions for governments across the world publish some of the hardest hitting and most reflective reports on lessons from major projects (witness the great work of the UK’s own NAO)
What are your ‘go to’ sources of insight internationally? Feel free to add any to the comments section below this post.
